Soundtrack: The Project
When Innocent and Noire first revealed themselves to me through A Love Noire, their many-layered story crisscrossed continents and ideologies in a heady affair of the heart. And in Hunger, the continuation of their story, Innocent and Noire battle bigger demons, stronger passions, and greater losses in their quest for love and redemption. I thank my husband, Kevin Webb, for being so attuned to the movement and meaning of each book that he heard the music that lived between my words. Much gratitude and respect as well to the gifted and accomplished artists whose music flawlessly captures the voice of both A Love Noire and Hunger that lives beyond the bounds of the page. And heartfelt thanks to all of you whose support introduces my art, and that of the other artists on this project, to new people in new places. Whether this album is your anticipatory prelude-or a satisfying postlude-to your experience of reading A Love Noire and Hunger, I hope these songs of ardent desire, broken hearts, and renewed spirits return you time and again to the world of Innocent and Noire.
